In this three part video piano shred lesson Vitalij shows how to build the techniques and finger strength needed for piano shredding on a piano.  This first part of the shred lesson goes through some warm-up techniques and practice exercises. In the second part Vitalij shows how he uses a thumping bass line and fourths in the right hand to get the feel of rock on the piano as the start of his piano shreds. He also demonstrates his cross-hand technique which enables faster playing and explains how to get fast chromatic playing over diminished arpeggios. In the third part he shows how to do fast chromatic octaves (a favourite technique used in live performances) and performs some Chopin and Beethoven which includes use of the cross-hand technique and chromatic octaves.
